Light performs a critical role in our perception of form. I aim to demonstrate this by shaping the light I use to conform to my desired aesthetic. By doing this, I hope to bring beauty to the most utilitarian and unassuming of subjects. I have prioritised structure and texture, making the selection process very precise, only choosing subjects that contain both of these characteristics. As a result of these precise criteria, I have used black and white, to avoid the potential distractions introduced by colour. I have also used the Nikon D810 paired with the Sigma 105mm in order to achieve the maximum amount of detail.
